Tom Clancy's The Division Is Coming to the Tabletop as a Deeply Strategic Tabletop Role-Playing Game

The gritty world of Tom Clancy’s The Division will be translated into a dice-based role-playing experience. A partnership has been formed to develop a TTRPG set within the series' post-pandemic landscape. The project has been announced, with a funding drive planned to launch in the spring of 2026.

"This project will bring the series' unique suspense, strategic depth, and iconic world-building to the table, providing fans a new way to experience The Division through immersive storytelling and player-driven missions," states an official release.

Launch products will include a beginner's box, core rulebooks, a GM screen, miniatures, and several deluxe editions.

Exploring The Division's Dystopian World

In this universe, a lethal pathogen known as Green Poison was released in New York City, sending the United States into chaos. As the crisis escalates, civil order breaks down and violent factions emerge, turning the urban landscape into a battlefield. To preserve law and order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a covert network of sleeper agents. That’s where the agents enter the story.

Work on the RPG has been in progress for about several years, and it is confirmed to be finished. The forthcoming Kickstarter campaign will function as a preorder system to reach a wider audience, specifically in the United States. Manufacturing will start immediately following the fundraiser, with deliveries projected for later in 2026.

A Streamlined Gameplay Mechanic: The GRIS System

A preview at the system confirms it employs d10s exclusively through its new GRIS system, promoting a fast-paced and tactical approach. Players use skills or traits to assemble a handful of dice, usually between one and five d10s.

  • Instead of adding results together, players select a single “result die” from the pool.
  • This die is then compared against a target difficulty.
  • Achieving a perfect 10 grants additional bonuses, such as increased harm or enhanced aid.

Combat Focus On Positioning and Awareness

Fights stress placement and environmental awareness, reflecting the video games. Elements like taking cover, elevation, or visibility directly influence dice rolls. This mechanic seems built to favor teamwork and clever tactics instead of simple statistics.

A Novel Health System

The way injuries is tracked adds a compelling narrative layer. Operatives have a injury limit; taking heavy hits weakens their capabilities by lowering the number of d10s.

  1. At critical condition, an operative collapses, but is not knocked out.
  2. They can still crawl and perform restricted acts, simulating the "downed" state seen in video game shooters.
  3. Any agent knocked down must consult a trauma table, potentially gaining persistent effects like trauma or crippling injuries.

A Ready-to-Play Scenario

A publicly available introductory rulebook is promised soon. It includes a pre-made introductory scenario called Ashes of Murray Hill. In this scenario, the group lead the hunt for a missing medical team and work to stop an attack by the violent Rikers faction, who have seized control of that Manhattan district. Further information and the complete product lineup will be detailed closer to the Kickstarter start date.
